Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best wallpaper resolution for my screen?
Match your screen's native resolution for the sharpest result. For most desktops and laptops that means 1920x1080 (Full HD), for 27-inch displays 2560x1440 (QHD), and for 4K monitors 3840x2160. When in doubt, 1920x1080 is the safest bet for a standard widescreen screen.
Can I use a wallpaper larger than my screen?
Yes. Your system automatically scales a larger image down to fit, and quality usually holds up well. The problem case is the reverse: stretching a small image up to fill a big screen is what makes wallpapers look blurry and pixelated.
Why does my wallpaper look stretched or show black bars?
The image's aspect ratio does not match your display. Pick a wallpaper with the same shape as your screen, usually 16:9 for widescreen monitors, and choose the "Fill" setting instead of "Stretch" so the proportions stay correct.
How do I set a downloaded image as my desktop background?
On Windows, right-click the image file and choose "Set as desktop background". On a Mac, open System Settings, go to Wallpaper, and select the image. If the fit looks off, try the Fill or Fit options until it covers the screen the way you want.
