Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use a free vector in my business logo?
Be careful. Many free vectors allow commercial use in designs, but logos are a special case — stock sites often forbid using their graphics as logos or trademarks, because a logo must be unique to your brand. Always read the license, and for a real business logo, original artwork is the safer choice.
What does free for commercial use actually mean?
It means you can use the graphic in work that earns money — client projects, websites, ads, or products. It does not mean you own the graphic: you usually cannot resell or redistribute the original file itself, and some licenses still require you to credit the artist.
Do I need to credit the artist when I use free vectors?
It depends on the license. Some free licenses require attribution, which means including a credit line with the artist's name. Others do not. Check the license on the download page — and when in doubt, giving credit is the safe and respectful choice.
Which vector file format should I download: AI, EPS, or SVG?
SVG is best for web use and opens in browsers and free editors. AI is the native Adobe Illustrator format with full editability. EPS is the most widely compatible format across different design programs. Download the format that your software supports.
