A look back at creative WordPress themes released in April 2013 — portfolio, creative, responsive and magazine themes from the ThemeForest marketplace of that era. An honest note: ThemeForest has since removed nearly all of these listings, so only 3 themes below still link to live pages. Treat this as a historical collection — a snapshot of what WordPress theme design looked like in 2013 — not a shopping list. If you need a theme today, start with the WordPress.org directory or a currently maintained premium theme, and always test on a staging site first.

Why almost every link here is dead
- Marketplaces retire old items. ThemeForest removes themes that stop selling or break on new WordPress versions — after a decade, very few 2013 themes survive.
- Design and code moved on. These themes were built for WordPress 3.x and PHP 5. Even the surviving three should be tested carefully on current WordPress before any real use.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are these April 2013 WordPress themes still available?
Most of them are not. Marketplaces remove themes that stop selling or stop working with newer WordPress versions, so only a few of these listings still link to live pages. Treat this post as a historical collection showing what WordPress theme design looked like in 2013, not as a current shopping list.
Is it safe to use an old WordPress theme from 2013 today?
Not on a live site. Themes built for WordPress 3.x and PHP 5 will likely break on modern WordPress and may contain unpatched code that attackers can exploit. If you want to experiment with one, do it only on a local or staging site, never on a site that handles real visitors or data.
Where can I find a similar creative WordPress theme today?
Start with the official WordPress.org theme directory, where every theme is reviewed, versioned, and shows its update history and compatibility. Look for portfolio and creative themes that were updated recently and support the block editor.
Why do so many theme roundup links die?
Theme marketplaces retire items that stop selling or break on new WordPress releases. After more than a decade, almost no 2013 theme survives, which is why checking a theme's last update date before installing anything is always worth doing.
